Hamster Cage

Today I (L) was thinking about the mini hamster cage that American Girl Ideas made. (here's the link: American girl hamster) I really wanted to craft it, but I didn't have the supplies. A few days later, I went target practicing with my family. and the ammo box that my dad had used was red, but clear so, I came up with the idea that we could craft a hamster cage out of that. The water bottle that you see on the right was made out of a pen cap, and sealed on both ends. To get a "through the wall" look, you have to cut the end of the pen cap off and glue it on the inside. To make the food bowl you cut off the circle end of a pencil top eraser and fill it with beads or paper/craft foam scraps. The shavings is manila paper, and the hamster (I named mine marshmallow) is a white pompom shaped by cutting off hair and adding tiny blue pompom eyes. The blue thing to the left is a string of tiny blue pompoms to represent a toy. I did make a hamster wheel, (still improving it) and it is a bottle cap big enough to fit my pompom hamster. This super fun and super easy craft is super cute and we hope that you try it and love it!
